The ZZ Plant is one of the hardiest houseplants you can purchase, so there’s no wonder why it’s also one of the most popular. Native to the drought prone eastern coast of Africa, it has learnt to withstand long periods without water and then intense downpours. It’s perfect for those who want a low maintenance plant but also an elegant room mate.
The thick stems and leaves on this proud perennial hold water and nutrients over long periods, so don’t worry if you miss a few waterings. It’ll also do well in the shade, but for the best growth, a portion of sunlight a day will do wonders.
