Sansevieria - 'Snake Plant'
The Snake Plant is notoriously hard to kill and is happy in almost all areas of the home. Their growth is directly directly upwards so it's a good one for narrow spaces, especially as it can survive in low light conditions.
In Nigeria, it is associated with the ‘Ogun’, the Orisha of war and is frequently used to in rituals to ‘remove the evil eye’. It’s also revered in Portugal, where it is known as ‘St George’s Sword’.
