Hosta - Several Varieties
The Hosta, perfect for shadier gardens and shadier spots. Sometimes you'll hear it called the Plantain Lily, which is an older nickname that refers to its resemblance to the common plantain weed. It was even classified as a lily right up until the 1980s, when the sub category Hostaceae was born.
They're great for wet and dark areas of the garden, which are often the edges of ponds or boggier spots underneath trees. If you put them in a pot, be sure to regularly water and keep the plant out of direct sunlight.
Flowers are produced in the summer and they're rich in pollen, helping out our friends the bees.
